OREGON TRAIL TRAVELERS
PURPOSE
  1. Through historical presentation to promote public awareness of era life styles and trades.
  2. Develop a greater understanding of life and craftsman skills of the era, in the members and public.
  3. Promote safe use of black powder guns.
  4. Have Christian fellowship with others.

CHALLENGES
Like most companies, we have certain challenges that each member must meet. Ours are:

  1. To have the following agreement with the era of 1840-1859.
    1. Blackpowder muzzleloader: any make or model as long as the model was not originally manufactured after 1859.
    2. Lodge: a wall tent or baker is preferable, but we will accept teepees or other types of lodges. All modern accouterments shall be hidden or disguised as period.
    3. Clothing: two color calicos, stripes, checks, simple plaids, wide wale corduroy, cottons, linens, homespun, etc. Buckskins are also acceptable.
    4. Trade-Craft: this should be something that will compliment the company. We will engage in "free enterprise". No plastic or modern packaging on trade goods.
  2. Demonstrate safe use and care of your muzzleloader.
  3. Keep dues paid current.
